NEST founder reflects on social impact of technology

It took quite some time for a Silicon Valley icon to voice some concerns about the impact of technology that he helped develop from iPhone to iPad (to NEST ‘smart’ thermostats) in this insightful article:  NEST founder: “I wake up in cold sweats thinking what did we bring to the world?”

The devices we use today tend to isolate us from other humans and make us believe that our interactions with others can be done in cyberspace alone. We feel part of a virtual community across the globe but lose contact with the person right next to us, be it a family member, a friend or a stranger.
